...I would argue that it is sometimes the pain in things that make you appreciate them the most... it is my unconditional willingness to endure the middle-of-the-night feedings, the cleaning up of vomit, the screaming for no good reason, etc that makes me realize how much I love my child and love raising him...

Selfless Mommy

You know, there are some moments that I really just need to be a mommy. I need to cuddle my child and make him feel loved. I just have the need to be mama-ish and feel needed as such. And at those moments, sometimes it isn’t what Zach needs. Because he wants to play or he wants to have some independence or he really just wants his daddy. And at that moment I give him what he needs instead of force what I need.  And in that moment I am a great mommy.
Remember that every time you put your child’s need over your own… you are a great mommy. Sometimes that looks like giving up a cuddle. Sometimes that looks like eating healthy food instead of that pizza you want. Sometimes that looks like staying home so that your child gets a nap. Sometimes it just looks like letting your child be themselves when you want to dictate things for them instead. No matter what… those are moments that you are a GREAT mommy.
Congratulations… not everyone can be that selfless.
